ARRIVAL
- Students should arrive no earlier than 7:20 am
- Breakfast is served from 7:20 a.m. to 7:50 a.m.
- Students who do not eat breakfast will meet in designated areas by grade level until 7:50 am
- First bell at 7:50 a.m.
- Tardy Bell at 8:00 a.m.
- Students arriving after the tardy bell will be counted tardy and need to sign in at the office.
DISMISSAL
- All students are dismissed at 3:25 p.m.
- Kindergarten, 4th, 5th, & 6th grades are dismissed on the West side doors by the main office.

1st, 2nd, & 3rd grades are dismissed on the East side doors

ALL students crossing the street must use the crosswalk.

Kindergarten- Recess 11:00 - 11:20 / Lunch 11:20 - 11:40
1st Grade- Lunch 11:35 - 11:55 / Recess 11:55 - 12:15
2nd Grade- Lunch 11:50 - 12:10 / Recess 12:10 - 12:30
3rd Grade- Recess 11:10 - 11:30 / Lunch 11:30 - 11:50
4th Grade- Lunch 11:45 - 12:05 / Recess 12:05 - 12:25
5th Grade- Lunch 11:25 - 11:45 / Recess 11:45 - 12:05
6th Grade- Recess 11:20 - 11:40 / Lunch 11:40 - 12:00
ABSENCES
Parents/Guardians are to notify the school office before 8:30 a.m. when their child is ill. All absences should be reported using SchoolMessenger-Safe Arrival in one of these three convenient methods:

Most convenient option! Using your mobile device, download and install the SchoolMessenger Home app* from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store (or from the links at home.schoolmessenger.com). The first time you use the app, select "Sign Up" to create your account. When creating an account, please use the same email address from your guardian's information in Skyward. To report an absence, select Attendance, then Report an Absence. *This is the same app we use for school communication!

Use the SafeArrival website, home.schoolmessenger.com. The first time you use the website, select Sign Up to create your account. If you already have a SchoolMessenger account, log in to access Attendance. Select Attendance, then Report an Absence.

Call the toll-free number 1-833-411-0038 to report an absence using the automated phone system.
These options are available 24 hours/day, 7 days a week. Future absences can be reported at any time.
TRAFFIC PROCEDURES
USD 428 and the Great Bend Police Department would like to inform you of the safety procedures to follow when dropping off or picking up students at Lincoln Elementary.
- Drivers may want to use the parking stalls South of Lincoln.

In accordance with Kansas Standard Traffic Ordinances, students need to use crosswalks to get across the street.

Drivers are not permitted to stop in the middle of Broadway for pick up/drop off.
- Drivers that choose to park on the north or south side of Broadway Street may do so only in legal areas.

Drivers picking up on Broadway will need to stay in an orderly line and wait for their student within the designated orange coned area. Students will not be allowed to enter the roadway to get into a car.
- Drivers are not permitted to stop, stand, or park on a street where the curb is yellow or is blocking any private driveway.
All other traffic ordinances will be enforced by law enforcement, including: speeding (the speed limit is 20 miles per hour from 7:30 am to 8:00 am and 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm), U-turns, failure to use signals, illegal stopping, illegal parking, impeding traffic, jaywalking, etc.
Traffic tends to be congested during arrival and dismissal times. To ensure the safety of our students, please be aware of your surroundings!
